A very long search on Dartmoor yesterday for our Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team (DSRT) Ashburton volunteers following a callout that was issued at 11:11. The incident was controlled by DSRT Search Managers who coordinated the efforts of all 4 DSRT teams, search dogs, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service and Devon Cave Rescue Organisation, as well as police search teams.

We finally stood down at 00:30 last night, 13 hours after the initial call out to the team. We left colleagues from the cave rescue teams to concentrate on some mine workings.

The search effort will continue today.

Dave Underhill, DSRT Ashburton Search Manager said “We are all concerned for Morley’s welfare. If anybody has any information on the whereabouts of Morley Petherick, please contact Devon & Cornwall Police by dialing 101.” Log now closed following Morley’s return on 1st December.
