Templer Way Challenge

Children enjoying dressing up as water rescuers at the Dartmoor Rescue open day

The Templer Way Challenge.

The event is a free event open to the general public.  If you have a well behaved dog on a lead, bring it along.

18 miles along the stunning Templer Way Trail

The route starts at Haytor Visitor Centre and works its way down the Templer Way Trail to the sea at Shaldon.

It's a fundraising event and we ask people to sponsor themselves to take part.

Team members marshall the event and provide all the safety cover.
Registrations for this popular event will open in February 2020.

The event is a fundraising event for team funds as we rely on public donation for over 92% of our funding. Our service is free to those in need across Dartmoor and Devon, and available  24/7

All profits from the event will be used to fund the work of our search and rescue charity. Reg charity number 1106098.

The walk will be at an easy pace and aimed at those who may not have the confidence to undertake a similar walk by themselves.

The walk will be up to 5 km and approximately 3 hours in length. Your walk will be guided by experienced mountain rescue volunteers who will take you to points of interest and tell you more about the moor's unique legends and archaeology.

After the walk, a light supper is arranged where you can chat to team members and your fellow walkers in the warm and dry.
