Paignton search is fourth in a week for volunteers

2nd callout of the day

On Saturday evening the 29th November the team were called out to search for a missing 83 year old tourist missing near Paignton in Devon. The lady was believed to be an alzheimer patient so the team prepared to attend another search after being out all day on the 2nd day of a search for missing Ashburton man Morley Petherick.

Lady is found

Fortunately shortly after the callout had been issued and team members made their way to the rendezvous, the lady was found and the team were stood down.

This has been a very busy week for our team of volunteers with 4 callouts and 2 days of extending searching as part of a major multi agency response in looking for Morley. A team spokesman said “We would like to extend our deep appreciation to our volunteers and their families who have squeezed in 4 callouts in amongst family commitments and their day jobs. Being part of a search and rescue team is a huge commitment and this week has certainly been a very busy week.”
